Splendid surprises are to be found in the heart of the Langhe in Barolo winegrowing country: a regal wine which is celebrated throughout the worldwide, castles that testify to an ancient history, and softly-contoured hills covered with lush vineyards.

Anyone who has been here knows how friendly and hospitable the people of the Langhe are, ready as they always are to offer the best of a land blessed with good fortune.

But then again, that good fortune is no new discovery: history tells us of how the pontiff who was to crown Napoleon Bonaparte Emperor in 1803, Pope Pius VII, cherished a fond memory of Cascina Luciani after stopping off here in the 18th century (1758) when he was still merely Don Luigi Barbara Chiaramonti, and is said to have exclaimed: "Ah! La Morra! Beautiful skies and good wine."

It just goes to show how worldly pleasures have always been among the most coveted...
A dream came true in 1993 when the old Luciani farmhouse was transformed into a wonderful haven in the heart of Barolo country for anyone seeking simple tastes and the tranquillity that is so put to the test in today’s world.

And guests could not hope for a more homely setting to feel completely at ease, pampered by Velda, and benefiting from her sensitive approach to discovering this generous land and the expertise that Giuseppe has mastered over the course of the years in transforming their precious grapes into the unforgettable bottles produced in the farm’s wine cellar.

Such attention to hospitality could not pass unnoticed, and Cascina del Monastero’s many fine qualities are highlighted in many prestigious tourist guides.
